There are a lot of things I am coming across that I can’t just pass up. That is why it is taking longer than I thought. One example is below. The first picture is the old shelf and the second is the new shelf. I had to buy the lumber, cut to fit, sand, and stain it with two coats. The floor is almost done also.

I got a lot done yesterday. I finished the belly pan, refinished the cabinets, and made these curtains.

I built a cabinet so it would be like the original.
Got the pluming in. No big picture to show. The end is in sight!
This is what the back of the trailer looked like this morning.
I got most of the major systems in place. They still need to be hooked up. It is taking time because I am cleaning as I go
I got the black tank in and shower wood support.
Then I put in the fiberglass
Then put in the walls. I still need to attach with slotted old style screws. I also prepped the cabinet areas.
If you would like to see an iconic video about Airstreams and how they were manufactured watch this. It looks like a 16mm film that we would have seen in school during that time ran on a movie projector – deep voiced narrator and everything! It is truly the 60’s all over again!
The copper water lines were blow out by freezing water. I replaced all the lines with PEX. It expands and this is what they use in new trailers. The bottom picture has the new linolium I installed under all the PEX.
The old water heater is out and the the new one is in.
I installed the linoleum over the repaired floor. If is the first time I installed sheet linoleum. This linoleum will only be seen inside the cabinets. I have included a close up of the linoleum and the floor covering I’m going to use. I am now working on changing out all the copper plumbing to PEX. The floor was tough. I’m hoping I will still be polishing in May!
